Revolutionary Art Exhibition

From Monet to Kandinsky Revolutionary Art’ is an exhibition held at the Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA). Based in the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai and a short walk away from the Burj al Arab – it brings classic art pieces into a modern, digital form.

Presenting work from Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Paul Cézanne, Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Paul Klee and Wassily. It takes you through a sensory journey throughout the 19th and 20th centuries – with HD projections, animated graphics and classical music.

ToDA is the first digital art space in Dubai and presents the art movements: impressionism, pointillism, post-impressionism, cubism and expressionism. It invites you sit back, lay back on the comfy bean bags and open your mind to an explosion of colours, sounds and illusions (whilst socially distancing of course). Now is the time to let your imagination run wild!

The multi-media, one hour exhibition has been a hit in Germany, Russia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia, and I’m sure it will continue to prove its greatness in the souk. A regular adult’s ticket can range between AED75 – AED100 – depending on whether you want to take part in the virtual reality (VR) room after the show.

The VR room gives you four different games to choose from and interact with. My game was to create a painting in the style of Kazimir Malevich (my abstract art is above) and I was able to climb into my painting at the end (is this a Burning Man conversation or what?).

This is a fun-filled experience for all of the family – educating you along the way – and inviting you to go into another realm. Illusion and being receptive is key for the performance. And in the words of this inspirational master,

“I dream of painting and then I paint my dream,”

Vincent Van Gogh.
